Protect
A strong status for biodiversity
Protecting a natural area mainly involves land control of the land concerned, via purchase or the establishment of agreements with the owners with the aim of restoring and sustainably managing the habitats.
The first actions therefore consist of canvassing private owners with a view to acquiring the most attractive land. Such land may be strategically located (close to existing nature reserves, providing a link between two protected sites, etc.) but also if it already harbours exceptional biodiversity that it is vital to protect.
