Eight habitats are concerned by the project, six of which are priority habitats in terms of conservation. For each of them, objectives have been defined in terms of hectares to be restored and purchased on either side of the border.
These open environments host a wide diversity of plant species, on moderately dry, nutrient-poor soils, between 300 and 550 m altitude.

These birch woodlands develop on the peaty soils of the Ardennes plateaux.
These natural forests develop spontaneously in flood-prone areas bordering rivers.
